About
Kelly grew up in Southern California, surrounded by the natural wonders of the Pacific Ocean, Sierra Nevada Mountains and Mojave Desert. She gravitated to art at a very young age and her creative talent expresses the essence her soul perceives in her subjects.
As a classically trained oil painter, Kelly passionately portrays faces and the human figure. Her work captures the sensuality of women, while simultaneously revealing the feminine strength that is often unacknowledged or unrealized by the subject. With each piece, she patiently pushes and pulls the figure through atmospheric and ethereal layers to tell a story beyond what is visible to the human eye. The finished work reflects what she perceives and senses from within her subjects. Her art liberates truth.
Kelly is privileged to have studied under esteemed master artists Romel de la Torre, Stanka Kordic, and Michelle Dunaway. Their influence, with echoes of John Singer Sargent, continues to inform her artistic vision.
Kelly also leads painting retreats in alluring locations such as Italy, France, Ireland, Portugal, and the Outer Banks, North Carolina.
Realizing a lifelong dream, Kelly now resides in Bergerac, France, with her husband, Robert, and their beloved Maine Coon, Indy (aka Indiana Jones and the Temple of Never Enough Food).
